The successful candidate will work with up to 50 partner schools and a range of external organisations, clubs and groups and will lead on projects and programmes targeting children and young people across Sheffield with the aim of getting them to move more.

The role of Assistant Sports Development Manager will support the strategic direction and delivery of the Arches School Sport Partnership, including Forge Valley Sports Centre and its work to develop PE, School Sport & Physical Activity across the north of Sheffield. The successful candidate will work with up to 50 partner schools and a range of external organisations, clubs and groups and will lead on projects and programmes targeting children and young people across Sheffield with the aim of getting them to move more.
Ideal candidates should have a range of sports qualifications and experience of delivering sports development initiatives, ideally within a school setting.
Candidates for this role should have a wide range of experience in working with a range of partners and organisations both within, and outside of the education sector and be a confident leader in managing staff and large-scale programmes and projects. The postholder will support students to transition from school sport in to community sports provision and work alongside the community sport team at Forge Valley School to develop and extend opportunities for all and have experience in delivering events and competitions for young people in a range of ages, across different key stages.
