Working Closely with Local Partners to Improve the Health of our County
Being active is more important than ever for our physical and mental health. There is strong clinical evidence of physically active people having lower health risks – including dementia, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, depression, bone fractures, arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions, some cancers, heart disease and stroke. Physical activity also boosts self-esteem, energy, mood and sleep quality.
Be Active works closely with various local partners including public health teams, primary care providers, health care professionals, the BLMK integrated care board, physical activity providers and the voluntary and community sector. Together, we explore needs and identify opportunities for everyone to move more to support the prevention and treatment of ill-health.
Be Active can support capacity-building and training, and the design, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives to improve physical and mental wellbeing by being more active. Please do share these resources and get in touch if you would like to share your experience or are interested in working together.
