Bedford Ladies and Girls Football Club

Bedford Ladies and Girls Football Club was founded in 1996 as part of Kempston West End FC. It soon became apparent that the objectives of the boys' and the girls' football was very different and we wanted to focus on the needs of the girls and so Bedford and District Girls Football Club was born. We have recently shortened the name to Bedford Ladies and Girls Football Club.

The Club is the longest established, largest and most successful all female Football Club in Bedfordshire.

For 2017-18 we will have teams at u9s, u10s, u11s, u13s, 14s, u16s, Ladies Development and Ladies First Team, involving players from u8 to adult.

We have Saturday Mini Club for girls age 5 and over, to get a taste of football in a non competitive fun environment. For players over 18 who cant commit to a team but want to keep fit, then we have a Thursday evening Just Turn Up sessions

We train twice weekly concentrating on not only having fun but also in developing skill, promoting a healthy lifestyle, improving fitness and wellbeing.

Parents are encouraged to get involved and this gives the Club a unique family atmosphere.

The older girls are encouraged to act as mentors to the younger ones and to take up coaching and refereeing and to run teams themselves.

The Club is run by volunteer Club Officials, coaches and parent helpers. It is a Charter Standard Development Club and is fully affiliated with the Bedfordshire FA . All our staff undertake the Safeguarding programme, First Aid and are CRB/CRC/DBS checked.

The subscription charged to members is to cover the running costs only ie the hiring of pitches, equipment, insurance and league fees. All other monies are secured through sponsorship, donations, fundraising events and grants.

The full price of signing on for 2017/18 season is £145 plus a minimum of one hour a month of voluntary time given to the Club. The fee must be paid when signing on either as a full single payment of £145.00 OR a deposit payment of £45 plus the completed Standing Order Mandate of £10.00 per month for 10 months.

Girls play matches on Saturday mornings at Allen Park, Old Ford End Road, BEDFORD MK40 4LY. Ladies play Sunday afternoons, the Development squad play at Allen Park and the First Team play at Kempston Rovers main pitch.

We are all volunteers, so if you want to get involved either Coaching, helping with Admin, PR or Marketing or just selling teas and coffees on a Saturday morning you will be very welcome.
