Board of Directors

Our board members help steer Be Active towards achieving our goals

Our board lead Be Active to help us achieve our vision to have a happier and healthier Bedfordshire and to ensure that movement is part of everyone's day to day life as we look to address the inequalities around access to physical activity.

Rob Purdie

Rob Purdie

Chair of the Board

Rob has enjoyed a 30-year corporate career including senior marketing roles at Granada, Bedford and Pirelli Retail, Luton, culminating as MD of a marketing agency and Commercial Director of a European media group. This experience has equipped him well to contribute as Non-Executive Director within numerous public bodies and given him a good understanding of how Boards can work together to deliver their outputs and outcomes.

As a self-professed sports "nut" for most of his life, Rob's recent interest in joining the team on Be Active's Board in a health and wellbeing role, was driven by his search to find an appropriate means to improve his own fitness and health as he got older. During this search he realised how difficult it was for many people to engage with the available options and felt he wanted to help.
